I dont know why but i just cant run with an idea anymore :/ Like, over the past couple years i've had ideas for games that i really want to make and do loads of excited scribbles but when it comes time to actually get making it i just lose all my steam. I think it's cause i always want to make something better than nevermore but if i wanted to make it better i'd probably have to use something more powerful than flash, and the obvious answer is unity or unreal, but I just can't get my head around it! Maybe i should just jump in and play and really invest some time into a new program rather than sitting here worrying about it and doing nothing. Heh, that was kinda a cathartic ramble i just had there. I guess i should just get on with it then :D

AAAAaaanyway, this is a photoshop painted version of a doodle i did for a scene in one of those aforementioned games :D this one i got super excited about and i'll make if i ever manage to pull my finger out. It'll have trains and ghosts and weird towns in it C:

I think you should create a spiritual successor to Nevermore. Different character and different story, but set in the Nevermore world, and same art style (But better, like you said).

In my opinion, Nevermore had so much charm that it would be a waste not to further explore that theme, and that world that is overflowing with character.

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, that's something I've been meaning to do for a while now, maybe in 3D, so long as i can keep that painty style somehow

I'm sure you could pull it off well. :)
But TBH, I think you've got the art style down. Why fix something that's not broken.
If I were you, I might focus on changing/adding gameplay elements to keep it fresh.

Whatever you end up doing, I'll play it, that's for sure.

Forget about nevermore. What game would you make to do now if nevermore never existed?

hmmmm, well, something about running away from monsters maybe :) BIG monsters on one of those little handcart trains. It would be nice to work on something that isn't strictly an adventure game.

Whoa, I don't know how "like to make" turned into "make to do" in that comment of mine. for the lulz!

Big monsters on tiny handcart trains sounds great. You should do it really!

Hm. Maybe you need someone to do a co-op with to bounce ideas off of? I know I've been told that doing everything by yourself is a pretty hard task. That and how game credits take at least 5 minutes to pass from beginning to end is a testament into itself about how many people end up working on a project.

That aside, I really love the image. I can totally picture a little creature, mixed between a Heartless (Kingdom hearts) and one of the shadow creatures (Heart of Darkness [link]) scurrying about, lying it wait for the hero/heroine to wander by.

Youknow what, my dad said basically the same thing to me about 2 hours ago, except he was talking about the credits for UP, still, same principle. Maybe i should take you guys advice :D

And yes, that's a good idea! I tried to post a muro response that had one of those monsters in it but it wouldn't let me send :C doh!

Heh, I'm just repeating the same thing I've been told, honestly. Right now I'm doing the marketing and the writing for my game along with some first draft sketches. I have a small crew of other artists with me who've promised to vouch some of their free-time to work on this thing. So far I've recruited a sound tech, a character designer, a story-boarder, a professional architect to help me with floor-plans and building designs, and a handful of smaller contributors helping with research and helping with story continuity.
We're going to set up a forum soon to get everyone organized, set due-dates for things, make a hub for anyone that wants a peek at what we're doing. I'm still designing it though and have yet to speak to everyone. That along with our official concept and design hub online. I'll have to forward you a link when I'm done. =)

By the way i'm super sorry for not contributing on game-art in forever! All i seem to come up with game related at the moment is little scrappy drawings (although they're also super valuable at the same time! ip and all that) Maybe i could put this up though? whatcha think?
